Shipping & delivery
Every artwork is packed with care and shipped from South Africa to your door in the United States.
Effective date:
1. Where artwork ships from
Art-Online Gallery is operated by Art Online Gallery LLC in Joplin, Missouri. Most artwork is held by the artist in South Africa until sold and is shipped from South Africa to your U.S. delivery address. A Joplin consultation does not mean the artwork is stocked locally. Any item held in the United States will be identified in its listing.
2. Destinations
We currently deliver to street addresses in all 50 states and Washington, DC, including Alaska and Hawaii. We do not deliver to U.S. territories, military (APO/FPO) addresses or P.O. boxes. Only supported destinations can complete checkout. For other destinations, contact us before ordering.
3. Flat shipping charge
Our standard shipping charge is USD $79 per order for supported destinations. This charge is displayed before payment. We may absorb part of the actual international delivery cost in our artwork pricing.
If an oversized artwork or special delivery location requires a different service or price, we will exclude it from the flat rate and disclose the exact charge before payment. If we cannot quote a supported delivery option, the order will not proceed without your agreement. No additional shipping charge is imposed after purchase without your express agreement.
4. Import duties and customs
We cover applicable U.S. import duties, import taxes, and standard customs clearance charges for your original delivery. These costs are included in the amount paid to us; they are not an additional charge to you on arrival. Sales tax, where applicable, is separately shown at checkout.
If a carrier asks you to pay an unexpected import charge, contact sales@art-onlinegallery.com before paying so we can resolve it. We will not require you to bear import charges that this policy says we cover. Customs may request reasonable recipient information to clear a shipment. Please respond promptly and contact us if you need help.
5. Processing and delivery estimates
Standard artwork is prepared and dispatched within 3 business days after order acceptance. Preparation may include collection from the artist, condition checks, protective packing, and export documentation.
After dispatch, estimated carrier transit is 7 business days. Estimated total time from order acceptance to delivery is 14 business days, allowing for normal processing and transit. We disclose artwork-specific schedules before purchase. Business days exclude weekends and relevant public holidays in South Africa and the United States.
Estimates must be supported by our artists' and carriers' capabilities. Customs inspections, weather, or other disruptions can affect arrival times. If we cannot dispatch within the promised period, we will contact you with a revised date and the option to cancel for a full refund. We will obtain consent where required and issue prompt refunds where required consent is not received. A delivery estimate is not a waiver of your rights if an order is not fulfilled.
6. Carrier, tracking and packaging
We expect to use DHL for international artwork shipments. Another suitable carrier may be used where appropriate for the artwork or destination. Once dispatched, we will send available tracking details to your order email address.
We pack artwork using protective materials appropriate to its size, medium, and format. Framing or rolled-canvas presentation is described in the listing; we do not remove an agreed frame or roll a stretched canvas without your consent. Orders with multiple artworks may arrive in separate packages, with tracking provided for each where available.
7. Receiving your artwork
Provide a complete, accurate street address and a reachable phone number. A signature may be required; any known signature requirement will be disclosed before purchase. Contact us promptly if your address changes. We cannot guarantee a change once a parcel has been dispatched.
Please inspect the packaging and artwork on arrival. If there is damage, photograph it where possible, retain the packaging, and contact us promptly. See our Returns & Refunds Policy. Delayed damage reporting does not automatically remove your legal rights.
8. Delayed, missing or undelivered parcels
Contact us if tracking stops updating, delivery is significantly overdue, or tracking shows delivery, but you have not received the artwork. We will investigate with the carrier and arrange an appropriate remedy. Our responsibility for loss or damage is not automatically transferred to you merely because we hand the parcel to a courier.
If a parcel cannot be delivered because of an incorrect address you supplied or an unarranged refusal, we will contact you to agree on next steps. Any proposed redelivery or return cost must be explained and agreed before it is charged. Such charges do not apply where the failure is ours or where you are exercising a protected right.
9. Local consultations and collection
Consultations in Joplin are by appointment. Collection is available only when expressly confirmed for a particular artwork; please do not assume artwork can be collected at our U.S. business address.
