Wildflowers
SKU: CWA-157
Wildflowers is a captivating original oil painting by South African artist Cornelie Wolff that beautifully captures a quiet moment of femininity, simplicity, and natural beauty. The artwork portrays a young woman dressed in a vibrant turquoise off-the-shoulder blouse, gently holding a rustic pot filled with delicate wildflowers. Soft white daisies, cheerful yellow blossoms, and subtle touches of burgundy create a delightful contrast against the striking blue fabric. Cornelie’s expressive brushwork and rich textures bring warmth and depth to the composition, while the woman’s partially concealed face introduces an intriguing sense of mystery. The focus remains on the delicate flowers, her gentle hands, and the peaceful intimacy of the moment. Something wonderfully nostalgic about this painting. It celebrates life’s simple pleasures, nature’s beauty, and the quiet joy found in ordinary moments. With its harmonious blend of earthy neutrals and refreshing turquoise tones, Wildflowers makes an elegant statement in a living room, bedroom, or contemporary gallery space. Its timeless charm and expressive character make it a beautiful addition to any original art collection. This Johannesburg-based artist started as a pharmacist. After completing her honours degree in psychology, she joined Helios to further her skills in art therapy. During this time, she fell in love with art, the process and the emotional power it yields. While raising her family, which consisted of three young children, she took part-time classes with Rika de Klerk and Willie Jacobs. She also attended workshops led by Koos Bronkhorst, Niel Moss, Willie Jacobs, Rentia Coetzee, Ruth Walters, Elize Bezuidenhout, Douw van Heerden, Charla Maarschalk, and Jennifer McChristian. Today, she practises what she preaches by creating her work under the motto: “With every painting I complete, I grow as a person and an artist.” My art is created from a place of wonder – it is my dream for every human to never completely lose the child inside them, because it is our ability to see wonder and magic in things. I use bold brushstrokes, contrast and an impressionistic approach to entice the viewer to create their own interpretation of the subject and become part of my world.
