Kissing a Dove
SKU: CWA-088
Kissing a Dove – Oil Painting Dimensions: 50 cm x 50 cm x 4 cm Medium: Oil A beautiful and intimate portrait that captures a moment of pure innocence and connection. This oil painting has a soft, ethereal quality that invites the viewer into a world of gentle reverence and quiet wonder. The artwork features a young child, her hair in a voluminous afro and her skin painted in warm, rich tones of dark brown and deep grey. Her expression is one of complete focus and tenderness as she holds a small, dappled dove in her hands. The child’s light yellow dress adds a touch of brightness to the composition, while her hands, rendered with care and detail, cradle the bird with a sense of gentle respect. The dove, a symbol of peace and hope, is a delicate and lifelike presence in the child’s hands. Its small form and gentle demeanour create a beautiful contrast with the child’s strong and powerful figure. Kissing a Dove is a moving and timeless oil painting that celebrates the beauty of a simple, shared moment between a child and nature. It is a work that speaks to the heart and would be a cherished addition to any art collection. Oil Painting Cornelie Wolff Approaching Art from a Different Angle This Johannesburg-based artist started as a pharmacist. After completing her Honours Degree in Psychology, she joined Helios to further her skills in Art Therapy. During this time, she fell in love with art, the process and the emotional power it yields. While raising her family, which consisted of three young children, she took part-time classes with Rika de Klerk and Willie Jacobs. She also attended workshops led by Koos Bronkhorst, Niel Moss, Willie Jacobs, Rentia Coetzee, Ruth Walters, Elize Bezuidenhout, Douw van Heerden, Charla Maarschalk, and Jennifer McChristian. Today, she practices what she preaches by creating her work under the motto: “With every painting I complete, I grow as a person and an artist.” My art is created from a place of wonder – it is my dream for every human to never completely lose the child inside them, because it is our ability to see wonder and magic in things. I use bold brushstrokes, contrast and an impressionistic approach to entice the viewer to create their own interpretation of the subject and become part of my world.
