SKU: CWA-029
Travelling Oil Painting Dimensions: 40 cm x 40 cm x 4 cm Medium: Oil Prepare for your walls to burst into full bloom with Cornelie Wolff’s absolutely captivating original abstract oil on canvas painting, ‘Abstract Poppies’! This isn’t a simple still life; it’s a dynamic, whimsical journey into a garden of pure joy and explosive colour, where every brushstroke is a celebration of life! Wolff’s brilliant artistry transforms these beloved poppies into a radiant display of abstract elegance. The flowers are rendered with an exuberant energy, their soft, warm petals and dark centres coming alive through thick, expressive textures. They seem to dance across the canvas, mingling with delicate strokes of lavender that hint at wild, untamed fields. The backdrop is a fantastic swirl of warm golds and whites, as if a gentle breeze is passing through, adding a sense of movement and spontaneity to the entire piece. This oil on canvas painting evokes the feeling of a sun-drenched day, the simple beauty of nature, and the sheer delight of a moment lost in a field of flowers. It’s a bold, fresh, and unforgettable take on floral art that will bring a daily dose of sunshine and happiness into your home. Oil on Canvas Cornelie Wolff Approaching Art from a Different Angle This Johannesburg-based artist started as a pharmacist. After completing her Honours Degree in Psychology, she joined Helios to further her skills in Art Therapy. During this time, she fell in love with art, the process and the emotional power it yields. While raising her family, which consisted of three young children, she took part-time classes with Rika de Klerk and Willie Jacobs. She also attended workshops led by Koos Bronkhorst, Niel Moss, Willie Jacobs, Rentia Coetzee, Ruth Walters, Elize Bezuidenhout, Douw van Heerden, Charla Maarschalk, and Jennifer McChristian. Today, she practices what she preaches by creating her work under the motto: “With every painting I complete, I grow as a person and an artist.” My art is created from a place of wonder – it is my dream for every human to never completely lose the child inside them, because it is our ability to see wonder and magic in things. I use bold brushstrokes, contrast and an impressionistic approach to entice the viewer to create their own interpretation of the subject and become part of my world.
