Abstract Artwork by George Boys
George Boys was a British artist known for his abstract paintings and prints. Born in London in 1930, Boys studied at the Slade School of Fine Art and later at the Royal College of Art. He began his career as a teacher but soon became interested in creating abstract art.
In the 1950s and 60s, Boys was part of the avant-garde art scene in London and exhibited his work at prestigious galleries such as the Whitechapel Gallery and the Royal Academy. His paintings were characterized by bold colors, geometric shapes, and dynamic compositions. He often worked with oil on canvas but also experimented with other mediums such as prints and collages.
Boys’ work was influenced by a range of artistic movements, including Cubism, Futurism, and Abstract Expressionism. He was particularly interested in the relationships between color, form, and space. His paintings and prints have been described as energetic, vibrant, and full of movement.
Today, Boys’ work can be found in the collections of major museums and galleries around the world, including the Tate Gallery in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Despite his success, Boys remained a humble and dedicated artist until his death in 1994.
